Event Description | After scouting and running first rapid, trip leader flipped boat in approximately “Greg’s Hole.” He made 3 attempts to re-enter boat mid channel then appeared to rest. He soon went into a second hole and became separated from his boat. His condition at this time was unknown. On pursuit he was noted to be unconscious and a second boater eventually reached him then entered the water and swam victim to shore. CPR was unsuccessful by swimmer. 911 was notified and Troopers and river service assisted in recovering swimmer and victim from river right. Other 2 in party exited river left soon after victim separated from his boat. 3 boats lost in the effort, all later recovered by local air service. |
